Did you know that Heartworms are transmitted by mosquitoes.  Throughout Northern California a significant number of the mosquito population are infected with the parasite that causes Heartworms.  As a result we recommend that all dogs be tested for Heartworms and placed on preventive medicine to protect them from infection.

   A small amount of blood is drawn from your pet and tested for heartworms.  If the test is negative, we place them on monthly preventive.

   Now there is a generic medicine available for heartworms called Iverheart.  Iverheart and Heartgard are available at our clinic & during the months of May & November both medicines are 20% off.
